Keli Amparan, CNM

Keli grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California in a small town called Los Gatos. She left when she enlisted in the Air Force and spent 10 years as an Avionics Technician repairing F-16s and F-111’s in England, Korea, and Las Vegas. She's been married for 25 years. Keli met and married her husband in Korea when they were both stationed there. They met in a running club called the Hash Hound Harriers. Together they have 6 kids, 3 dogs a snake and 6 tropical fish. Keli and her husband moved to AZ  20 years ago after they left the Air Force. They enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, going to the movies and spending time with their kids and families.

Keli decided to go back to school to become an RN after her last baby was born. She had always been fascinated with pregnancy and childbirth and during nursing school, she found herself drawn to Women’s Health. Keli decided to work as a Nurse Extern during nursing school to get more than just the experience she was getting in school and worked at Banner Mesa and St. Josephs Hospital in Labor and Delivery.

After graduation, Keli worked in several hospitals in the valley as a Labor and Delivery nurse. Her work as a Registered Nurse helped influence her decision to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. While working at Phoenix Baptist Hospital, she worked with several midwives who encouraged her to continue her education and become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Keli pursued that dream and graduated in July of 2013 from Frontier Nursing University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and completed the Certified Nurse Midwife board certification soon afterwards. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Duke University.

Midwifery care has expanded in the valley as women become aware of the benefits of the Midwifery Model of caring for women. Keli is excited to be a part of the increasing options for women and their choices in birth.

Keli Amparan, CNM is currently accepting new OB and GYN patients for pregnancy and women's health issues. If you are pregnant or have a gynecologic need please call today to be seen.
