Brynea Daman, CNM

Brynea grew up in Ubandale, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines. Her passion to work with women started in high school, when she met an amazing Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. After high school, she chose to escape the cold north moving to Oklahoma where she completed her nursing degree in 2006 at Oral Roberts University. Oklahoma was where she met her husband, James, got married and started working as postpartum/newborn nurse at a large teaching hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As a new nurse, she met a wonderful group of Nurse-Midwives who inspired her in their unique way of caring for women in labor and birth. It wasn't long until she found a position in labor and delivery and started working toward becoming a Nurse Midwife. She has spent the last few years working toward her midwifery degree and working as a labor and delivery nurse in Washington, D.C.

In June of 2014 she graduated from Frontier Nursing University with her Master's of Science in Nursing and shortly after completed her board certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife. Her midwifery clinical training was completed at Washington Hospital Center in DC, Centreville OBGYN in Centreville, Virginia and at Women's Health and Birth Center in Alexandria, Virginia. She enjoyed and appreciated the wide diversity of experience she gained through each.

Her passion is to provide women and their families with the highest level of care possible, helping them make the most educated decisions for their families and supporting them in their desired birth experience. She believes that pregnancy and birth are normal and that given access to a variety of birth options it can be an empowering experience for women.

When she is not providing care to women, she enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her husband and their dog, Bentley.

Brynea is excited to be providing care with the MomDoc team!
